Welcome to “My Official Kindle Fire Review Website” and thank you for visiting. Here, you will find out if the Kindle Fire is really worth purchasing or not…
So, let me start off by saying that probably most of you who are reading this post have already, at some time, held any given Kindle Model in their hands and have either bought one or considered buying one.
Personally, I own the Kindle DX and I have to admit that it fulfills all my desires and the commercials were not redundant because Amazon held up to what they promised their users.
Now, with the release of the Kindle Fire, Amazon is pursing to be a direct competitor to very well known products such as the “Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy” Tab etc. Although the purposes may vary, the features are quite similar.
Since the release of the first Kindle in 2007, Amazon has grown a large fanbase and many people raving about its ability and how it has revolutionized the term “reading” by making it much more economical (since you are saving all your books on an internal harddisk instead of owning tons of heavy books that just fill up space within your apartment/house) and comfortable for the user.
Now before I delve into the review, I would just to mention quickly it is layed out.
I shall give a short introduction to the features & changes Amazon is presenting on the Official Kindle Fire Webpage followed by the negative aspects of the device and then I will talk about things I really enjoyed & liked about it. Eventually I will then give you my personal recommendation and why I think you should order it or not.
So, lets jump into my in-depth review and find out whether the Kindle Fire is worth it price tag of $199 or not.

Kindle Fire – Features & Enhancements
Feature 1:
The biggest & probably the most important enhancement is the fact that the Kindle Fire has a 7 inch touch-screen with IPS technology (same as the iPad 2). The main goal of Amazon is to make everything as simple as possible with the least need of explanation to how you can properly use the device.
Feature 2:
Apps & Games are now downloadable from the Amazon Store. Their are many special offers and Amazon even lets their users download 1 paid app for FREE each and every single. Generally, anybody who has been to the Amazon Store before knows exactly how huge the selection of content/media is. There are over 1.000.000 books, 170 million songs and 1.000′s of movies.
Feature 3:
Another new feature is the breakthrough web-browsing that competes to the iPad in every single way. It uses Amazon Silk, which is a cloud accelerated browser designed for optimal speed and fast processing.
Feature 4:
Amazon has also introduced the Cloud Storage, which basically allows you to upload any content you have save to your hard disk onto an online cloud server and back it up for later use.
I would like to wrap it up with the features because you can read all these on the official Kindle Fire website if you like to =>

So, lets talk about the things I did not like about this e-reader.

Negative Aspects Of The Kindle Fire
Since Amazon is trying to compete with brands such Apple and their iPad 2, we have to check if this Kindle model is worthy an opponent or not.
Point 1:
You have no camera (neither in the front or back) and you do not have the ability to record voice memos. These two to me have become essential tools and I am not so happy that Amazon has not taked the time to include this into their e-reader.
Point 2:
Battery life is… not very pleasing I have to admit. You can call yourself fortunate if it lasts up to 8 hours before recharging it. The Kindle DX, when compared to this model, can hold up to 3 weeks without being attached to a power cord. But in defense I have to mention that the DX doesn’t have color and a touch screen that deprives the battery quickly. Furthermore the iPad 2 can also last only upto 10 hours on the contrary… not impressive if you ask me
Point 3:
There is no Bluetooth
and no GPS installed into the Kindle Fire. Especially the fact that is doesn’t have Bluetooth can be rather annoying. Sometimes, I think to myself: Gosh, we are in year 2011 and company’s still have the nerve to exclude this crucial feature.
Point 4:
You can only use Wi-Fi, there is no 3G. That means that whenever you leave the hosue an you want to enter the Amazon Store or surf the internet you literally become a slave to Wi-FI hotspots. This is fine if you are in a big city with many cafe’s etc. but not if you are stuck in a small town where the next mall is a minimum of 5 miles away from your house.
Ok, so these were the things I found not so good about the latest Kindle model and now I am going to talk about the enhancements that got me really excited when I heard about them.

Positive Aspects Of The Kindle Fire
Point 1:
The price – I have to say that almost $200 for a 7 inch multi-touch screen tablet device is really good. It may not have the ability to beat the iPad 2 but its price clearly makes it much more attractive since the tag is pretty much the largest factor to whether somebody will buy a product or not.
Point 2:
This features can be very helpful is having a few people looking simultaneously on the screen – the Kindle Fire supports wide-angle viewing so that people sitting/standing far to the left of the device can still see clearly what is being displayed on the screen. Really helpful if watching pictures with friends or so…
Point 3:
Screen quality – this deserves a major “thumbs up” from all angles. The quality of the screen is simply A.W.E.S.O.M.E. – The anti-glare display, the 16 million different colors, the 1024 x 600 resolution with 169 pixels per each inch… it even makes the iPad 2 look deficient
Point 4:
Durability – the screen is literally “unscratchable“. Honestly, take a knife or whatever sharp thing you can get hold of and try scratching the surface of the screen and see what happens… i’ll tell you => nothing, whatsoever.
Point 5:
Speed – its rocket fast and I haven’t experience even one tiny bit of “lag” ever since I used it. I admit that I haven’t done a stress test by loading up hundreds of different things all at once but I assume that the average user is not destined to do that.
Point 6:
Since talking I was talking of speed, let me mention Amazon Silk. As described earlier “Silk” is the inbuilt web-browser which is supposed to make your browsing experience much better. Now, here is the awesome thing – its even faster than the iPad 2!!!
Point 7:
Amazon Cloud – this extra is also contained within the latest iOS 5 of Apple Products but it really is something one can get easily used to. Simply upload any content saved on your internal storage to Amazon Cloud and back it up. Then just download it anytime you need it again… The best part about this feature is that it is FREE
Point 8:
Amazon Store – just gorgeous… So much paid and free content you will never get satisfied. As I said before, you have over 1 million books, 170 million songs, 10.000 tv shows and movies and more! Needless to say, this is just as great as Apple’s AppStore and iTunes combined.
Point 9:
IT SUPPORTS FLASH PLAYER – can’t explain how crucial that is for me. If you are surfing the web with an iPhone or iPad you are stuck with Youtube Videos. Now, you can watch pretty much any video on the web without getting the silly message saying: Video not supported bla bla…
Point 10:
Apps – might not be superior to the AppStore but its has the majority of good apps available for download. At many occasions, prices are even much lower than in the AppStore

Conclusion
Since you have reached this paragraph, you probably have a much better understanding of the positive and negative aspects of the Kindle Fire. Let me keep it short and tell you why I think this product is very much recommendable.
I think one thing is very clear… People want to spend the least amount of money for as much as they can possibly get. And that absolutely corresponds 100% to what the Kindle Fire has to offer. You have many features that are much better than that of similar devices (iPad 2 *clearing throat*) and it is merely one third of its price.
You might not have the ability to record videos and voice memos but if you are fine with those features then you WILL be happy about the decision of buying it.
Its stylish, elegant, really FAST and loaded with many helpful tools and functions.
Personally, I am not addicted to having the most advanced device on market but rather I’d spend money on something that fulfills my needs and not my whim. And that is exactly what the Kindle Fire has to offer.
